A privacy policy(the PBF privacy policy), is a document that clearly explains what information a particular website will collect from its users, and how will it use it. It is a bond of trust between the user and the website.

A disclosure, policy, on the other hand, clearly states who the content of the blog is from, and what their aims with it are. Often when there are advertisements on a blog, a disclosure policy also alerts the user of the presence of advertisements. A good example is the Blogging Bits disclosure policy

But, creating these policies isn’t exactly cake, meaning to say, not every blogger likes to go into mind baffling details(think ‘Terms and Conditions’ ;) ), and so many blogs simply don’t have a privacy or disclosure policy on them.

Why?

If your blog is a personal or niche oriented, you might not need a privacy policy. But large business blogs/sites offering services(which require sign ups) do really need a privacy policy, and a good one at that.

Having a working privacy policy and disclosure policy indicates professionalism, and shows the blogger or company is serious about user rights.
