How to Handle Hot Hollers and Hefty Hits

Yo there! If you are new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed, or through email, for more tips on better and effective blogging!

So, you have this growing blog and you’re nicely blogging at ease and with fun. You have a loyal and growing reader base also. But then you see negative attitudes towards you and your blog. Some people are leaving behind insulting comments and are hitting at you and your blog. You’re smart enough to delete them ;) but that thing stays in your mind. Why did people show negativity towards you? And how do you handle them(thus the title of this post)?

Why?

The first thing to look at is the possible causes of people doing this. You can’t please everybody. There will always be some people who don’t like you. Maybe because they are jealous about your success or because you don’t pay attention to their opinion. What ever the reason, they hate you. And the take out their hatred filled anger on you(ouch! :( )

You’re not alone though. I too have had my share straight in the face. Here’s a snapshot of an example:

Straight in the gut. Painful, eh? (For the curious cats, the post was this one) Not a real nice response to a post, right? So, here’s some bad news and some good news.

The bad news is that there are dillions of such people out there who’ll insult you or be negative towards you.

The good news is that you shouldn’t care.

How?

That is the dillion dollar question here. What should you do against such things? Here are some tips.

That magical 6 letter word: I-G-N-O-R-E

This is your best and first and foremost weapon. Simply IGNORE. Don’t reply to such comments or start up a flame war against such people. Just press the delete button. A calm and proactive mind can overcome the fiercest of storms. Often what happens is that such people are only temporary flame hitters. I mean, they’ll do it for some time and then quit. The key is to keep ignoring them. They’ll get tired soon enough.

And, besides, you have other important things to do than get messed up in this crap. Just try it and see. :)

Fight the fire without fire

What you can also do is fight them back. But not by sending hate mails or insulting them. Fight fire without fire here.

Don’t delete their spiteful comments. Allow them and then let your loyal readers hit back. They will hit back, believe me. It’ll be a many-against-one fight.

NOTE: This method may bring you satisfaction, but the damn person wouldn’t care less what people say about him/her! They’re nuts hard enough to not let this thing go through them. They’ll go away and do the same with other people! But, you still get the satisfaction of seeing readers kick their a**!

If you’re looking to have some fun,

try out these evil methods

Spam the spammer

It’s probable that hateful spammy person left an email address as spammy and bogus as themselves in the comments. But why not request your loyal readers to hit them back with loads of spam+hate mail? Your readers will be happy to oblige! Just try it out, even if it doesn’t work. But most probably, that hateful spammer must’ve left his real email address their, or you can use some detective work to find out! Any black hat people here ? ;)

Reply with as much fire and spite

This is simple. Reply to that comment with as much spiteful-ness. Even better, go further and insult the whole family of that *@$%@£$* !

Now that you have learned four(two good, two useless) good techniques to fight back, go and do it!
