Monday Questions #1
I’ve really been addicted to series posts, and here I am, starting another one!
Many blogging about blogging blogs, even blogs in other niches, have one thing in common, they often let readers ask them questions and then they answer them on their blog in a post.
Well, at first, I thought about doing the same, but then I thought: I wouldn’t be any different from anyone else then. We’d all be doing the same thing, and possibly also, unknowingly, committing the same mistakes. So, I decided to be different. I decided to ask you, the readers, questions, instead of vice versa.
Not only would that help me understand problems, and help solve them, it will also help you know other readers’ problems and learn from them and help them solve them. Isn’t that what a good community is all about? And I aim to make this blog a helpful place for all bloggers, be they experts or beginners.
So, to start off this series, which will run every Monday, hopefully as regularly as the Thursday Links Roundups, I have this question to ask:
What is that one thing which you know could improve your blog, but you’re not doing?
I’ll start off by answering that question for myself.
I feel that the one thing I know will improve my blog is to do sustainable social networking.
I started out with social media and networking like I was crazy. I wanted to become a power digger, and StumbleUpon god, but then, after a while, I started losing steam. Maybe it’s because I’ve been more busy with real life(school admission, stuff) but I feel I’m not giving enough time to the social networking aspect of successful and effective blogging.
What about you?

I know I could improve my site if I’d take the time to make the site easier to find all the golden nuggets of information I offer.
Todd, thanks for your response. You’ve got anything in mind on how to solve this problem of yours?
I know I can increase my blog exposure….by redesigning it….as people get much closer to the blog with custom…and stylish theme…rather than the one…which is used by other gazzilion blogs….what you say about it?
Nasir – You’re absolutely right. That’s why I redesigned my blog too. To make it different. Sure, it takes time and effort, but it’s worth it
I’m considering using the ‘more’ feature in our blog posts so allow more posts on the front page (Adsense has that max of 3 ads per page) but with over 300 articles (and growing by 1 new article per day) that is a lot of work.
Plus, what will it do to my RSS feed?
And, what about the adsense ads? I have them now at the end of each article. Will they still show on the main page after the ‘more’ tag?

Dan, I really think you should be using the ‘more’ function: it will save space and decrease load times.
It doesn’t add a more link to your blog feeds, not if you enable an option in your WordPress Reading options which goes like this:
For each article in a feed, show…
Set that to full text, and you’re done!
About your second problem, it seems you’ve added the adsense code in your index.php template, if I am not wrong. They will still show, after the more link, I think. Do tell me how it works out for ya!
The easy answer is more frequent, better content. Next would be finding more bloggers in my niche, and linking with them.
Well, Peter Answers, I think your niche is extremely interesting, and a simple search, can do the job of finding fellow bloggers. Great!
