Some Nice Blog Stats To Finish Off The Year
Under 7 hours are left (at least here in Pakistan) till 2007 ends and 2008 starts. To finish off 2007, I thought why not present my readers with some pleasant traffic statistics? Mind you, this blog is only a week old, and I’m very impressed with the stats. Also, the following stats are not that of Google Analytics, simply because I’ve just installed it and there’s no data to work with :p . Instead, I’ve got data from the several Wordpress stats plugins I use, which do the job just as better. So let’s start.
Traffic
Till this moment(since Monday of the previous week), this blog has had received 1077 unique-hits and 2597 page-views. As the picture below shows, the majority of the traffic has come in the last 24 hours, with 1067 unique visits and 2585 page-views being recorded in the last 24 hours. Perhaps this is because of the hugely popular(by hits) 7 Detailed Ways To Improve Your Blog article, which I posted yesterday.
From the above snap shot, the overall page-views per visitor comes to 2.41 pageviews per visitor. Not bad, I think. A graphical view of the above:
You can see that big spike there on the 30/12 date, getting 1848 hits. The best day for this blog yet. Previously it was 37/12, with around 520 hits. Nice, eh?
Traffic Sources
The biggest traffic source to this blog yet has been trusty old StumbleUpon, accounting for 95% of that big spike up there. More information in this snap shot:
You can see that SU alone sent 226 visitors to The 8th Way. Note that these are recent referrers.
There was only one
visit from Google Blog Search for the phrase ‘create a blog that makes money‘. Hmm , gotta improve in this area.
Other Stuff
Here I’m including other stuff such as browser and OS information. Its all in the snap shots:
Well that’s it. What I can say is that I’m quite impressed with this blog’s traffic stats. It’s only a week old but has impressive traffic. Also, the number of feed subscribers is hovering around the 50 mark, which is an impressive feat, I must say.
2008?
I must improve on the SEO area in the next year(2008). I’ll also be looking to build more links(anyone interested? Leave a comment).
P.S: In case you’re wondering which plugins I use for stats, here they are: FireStats and WordPress.com Stats.

That’s right Louie!
SU has continually been the major traffic source for this blog.
And I hope it remains that way.
SU rocks for me also!
